Shooting with visual control of sighting devices.

Shooting without traditional aiming still does not allow you to solve all the problems that arise in close combat. As mentioned above, sometimes you need to make a very accurate shot at a small area.

For example, to destroy an enemy looking out from behind a shelter, or to destroy a terrorist hiding behind hostages. Such a shot can only be made with visual control of aiming devices from a static position. Here you can not do without holding your breath, a smooth front sight and a smooth descent.

The paratroopers during the first Chechen campaign had a phrase: "the Best hand-to-hand combat is a smooth front sight and a smooth descent." This phrase is the essence of correct aiming.

Back in the early 30s of the last century, N. Oznobishin tried to describe the basics of shooting training in close combat. He said that they provide for preliminary training in a mandatory course of elementary (statutory) shooting, which is given in the official instructions. Time has confirmed the correctness of these settings. Without looking at the instructions, we will briefly focus on aiming and shooting positions.

When shooting from a stationary position, it is necessary to combine the target and the front sight on the same line. In this case, the vision is focused on a closely located fly, so that it is clearly visible. It is enough to see the target not very clearly. After that, you need to hold your breath on a half-exhale and smoothly and evenly, without jerks, without waiting for the shot, squeeze the trigger. Hitting the target is guaranteed. Usually instructions recommend that you be able to shoot only with one eye (the leading one). Most of them have the right eye. Some recommend that you do not close the second eye. Arrows on competitions to avoid tension of facial muscles from a squinted eye close the eye not engaged in aiming with a special bandage or just a thick sheet of paper. We advise you to learn all these methods, including using the left-hand stand and the left eye.

To understand why such diversity in the use of eyes is necessary, consider the advantages and disadvantages of all these methods:

- when aiming with the right eye with the left closed, visual acuity improves, there is no interference and distortion of the aiming device, which makes shooting more accurate. Disadvantages include facial muscle tension, rapid eye fatigue, narrowing of the field of vision, and the lack of binocular effect that allows you to accurately determine the range.

- when aiming with the right eye with the left closed with a bandage or paper, there is no tension of the facial muscles, which improves the accuracy of aiming. To the above disadvantages is added the need to put on or remove the bandage (paper) with your hands, as necessary. The latter takes time, distracts from weapons and observation of the surrounding space. When aiming when both eyes are open, it is necessary to take into account which of the eyes is the leading one (usually the right one).

To determine the leading eye, you must look at a distant object by placing your finger between it and the eyes. When looking at an item, the following is determined:

- if you see two "transparent" fingers, then both eyes are leading.

- if one finger is visible, then closing both eyes alternately, it is established at which open eye the finger remains in place, this eye will be the leading one.

The disadvantages of open eyes include lower accuracy of aiming, which makes this shooting effective only at short and medium distances. The brain, accepting signals from both eyes as independent, creates a "double image" effect, which makes it difficult for the shooter to identify sighting devices, and increasing the volume of visual information requires increased conscious activity.

Create a density of fire

The density of fire (the number of bullets at a certain time per running meter) is necessary in close combat when suppressing enemy fire. It is created in order to prevent him from firing accurately when our shooters overcome the areas that are being shot through or come to a favorable position. When shooting with the purpose of creating a density of fire, we are not talking about high accuracy. It is enough that the bullets fit into certain dimensions of accuracy (doorway, window frame, basement, attic, etc.).

To obtain such a density and accuracy of fire, the weapon must be clamped tightly by the shooter as in a Vice, and pointed at the point of probable appearance of the target. Then it is possible to achieve the required accuracy.

Therefore, the task of the shooter is to fix the weapon as tightly as possible. This method is best developed by A. Petrov. We will not describe it in detail, since the author did it himself. We will focus only on the General description in the context of the application in the system, and on individual disadvantages.

When shooting, the shooter's body slightly moves forward, tightens the muscles, the back leg is set back. The position resembles a swordsman in a lunge.  In this position, it is easy to fire as quickly as possible with the required accuracy or automatic fire without scattering bullets higher than allowed.

Being in such a pinned position, the shooter should remember about the high energy consumption due to muscle tension, and that the rapid transfer of fire to large angles will be difficult for him, again because of the pinned position. If the shooter is in a standing position, the straightened back leg will slow down the rapid movement and transition to another position. Therefore, it is best to fire in such positions from closed firing positions.
