Hand-to-hand combat basics

Breadcrumbs EN

Preparation for hand-to-hand combat is the development of melee skills, a means of physical and psychological training, a powerful psychological factor that strengthens morale.

A person who feels his strength in hand-to-hand combat, maneuvers more freely in life, confidently makes responsible decisions, and takes a justified risk.

Previously, various "techniques" for exotic martial arts were offered, now they have been added to the Slavic directions and schools.

This is pleasing, because, despite the rich historical experience in the General population, they have become popularized relatively recently.

To date, there are no easy-to-understand methods and a clear systematization of domestic martial arts. The literature that appeared after 2000, as well as the opening of schools and sections, have not yet fully compensated for this gap.

Our martial arts have a pronounced applied character. Coaches-masters of wrestling, it is difficult to rebuild psychologically. In martial arts, there are rules that prevail at the level of the subconscious, there is no use of improvised means and weapons. Their training method is based exclusively on a sports approach and sports psychology.

In understanding this problem, we are close to the views of N. N. Oznobishin, who in 1930 noted: "We do not deny that these systems (we were talking about Boxing, Savate and Ju-jitsu), practiced for the purposes of pure sport, are an excellent means of developing endurance, speed, strength, agility, combat capability and other physical and mental qualities and in this, indirectly prepare the fighter, but once again, they do not give real, direct preparation for a serious collision."

We do not consider hand-to-hand combat as a panacea for all ills. Hand-to-hand combat in its "pure form" is extremely rare. At present, the issues related to it have shifted more towards the development of psychological and special physical qualities that are indispensable in the modern world.

This increase psychological resilience to adverse environmental factors, the development level of subtle perceptions and use of the reserve capacity of the organism, the development of skill, resourcefulness, ability to accept non-standard solutions.

The proposed hand-to-hand combat is a section of the SBOR system. it is based on historical experience and knowledge from various fields of modern science: physics, anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, ergonomics, psychology, etc.

His task is to learn how to use the resource of the subconscious mind to make optimal decisions and form a rational system of movements in extreme situations.

Thus, we study and consider hand-to-hand combat in all its facets, both from the practical and theoretical side.
